What is Cupping?
Cupping is a negative pressure (vacuum pressure instead of pushing down) which helps to create space within the tissues, breaking up restrictions, loosening muscles and increasing blood flow to the area.
Cupping also helps relax or sedate the nervous system. It is not painful but may leave bruising depending on the depth the cups are applied and the area treating.
Bruising doesn’t always happen when treated with cups and there are techniques to get the benefit of cupping without causing bruising. If bruising does occur, a hot bath or shower with increase of water intake will help reduce the effects.
